Welcome back. You were on step .
-
Step 1: Check the alert is switched on
In the app, go to Settings, then Notifications. Check the alert you’re missing is switched on there: Escape Alerts for your fences, Battery for a low battery, or Firmware updates.

Your phone isn’t allowing notifications from Waggi. Tap a switch and allow them when asked. If you see “Permission Required”, tap Open Settings and follow the next step.
-
Step 2: Allow notifications on your phone
On an iPhone, open the phone’s Settings, find Waggi, tap Notifications and turn on Allow Notifications. On Android, go to Settings, then Apps, then Waggi, then Notifications, and turn them on. The names vary a little between phones.
TipFocus or Do Not Disturb can hold back notifications. On Android, battery saving can delay them too: in Waggi’s app settings, let it use the battery without restrictions.

Step 3: Check you’re signed in on this phone
Alerts go to every phone signed in to your Waggi account, so open the app on this phone and check you’re signed in. Still nothing? Tap Logout at the bottom of Settings, then sign back in to register the phone again.
-
Step 4: Check the tracker is charged and sending
Alerts come from what the tracker sends, so it needs charge and mobile coverage. Open the Location tab and check the time next to Location is recent. While your dog is resting, updates are further apart.

That’s expected. Battery alerts don’t come while the tracker is on its charging pad.
-
Step 5: For escape alerts, check the fence is on
Escape alerts only come for fences switched on with Activate virtual fence, and once your dog is outside all of them. They wait for a precise location, so they can come a little after your dog leaves.

Step 6: Contact support
Checked all of these and alerts still aren’t arriving? Contact support. Tell us which alert you’re missing, and whether you use an iPhone or an Android phone.
Frequently asked questions
I’m not getting any alerts. What should I check?
Check the alert is switched on in Settings › Notifications, and that your phone allows notifications from Waggi. The guide “Fix alerts that aren’t reaching your phone”, above, goes through every check.
My dog left the fence but I didn’t get an escape alert. Why?
Check Escape Alerts is switched on in Settings › Notifications, and the fence is on with Activate virtual fence. Fence alerts wait for a precise location, and with several fences the alert comes only once your dog is outside all of them. For the other checks, see the guide above.
Why do alerts arrive late?
While your dog is resting, the tracker checks in less often to save battery, so an alert comes when it next sends a location. Once your dog is moving it checks in sooner, and without mobile coverage it waits until it’s back in range. If you’re worried, open the app and start Live mode.
Why am I getting too many fence alerts?
Usually the fence is drawn too tight. Make it reach a little beyond your garden, from Settings › Virtual Fence. You also get one each time you take your dog out and another when you’re back: turn the fence off first with Activate virtual fence if you’d rather not.
Will I get an alert if the tracker goes offline or loses signal?
No, Waggi doesn’t send an alert for that. Check the time next to Location instead. If it keeps growing, follow “Location isn’t updating”, under Location and Live mode.
