Welcome back. You were on step .
-
Step 1: Update Waggi
Open the App Store on iPhone or Google Play on Android, search for Waggi and tap Update if you see it. If Waggi shows “Update required” as it opens, tap Update now, update the app, then open it again.
Tip“Update required” can’t be closed, so the app can’t be used until it’s updated. If Update now doesn’t open the store, open the App Store or Google Play yourself. This is different from the tracker’s Update Required message (see Updates).
Photo needed: The Update required message over the app as it opens: the title, “Waggi [version] is available. Update to continue using the app.” and the Update now button, with no close button -
Step 2: Close Waggi completely, then open it again
On iPhone, swipe up from the bottom of the screen and pause, then swipe Waggi up and off the screen. On Android, open your recent apps, then swipe Waggi away. Then open Waggi again.
TipIf the app closed during a walk, it opens on the Walk Summary when you reopen it. Tap Save walk to keep it.
-
Step 3: Check your internet connection
Waggi needs the internet to sign you in and show your dog’s latest location. Turn Wi-Fi off and on, or switch to mobile data, then try again. Your dog’s tracker keeps working while the app is offline.
It says “Something went wrong. Please try again later.”?
Wait a minute, then try again. If it keeps happening, carry on with the next steps, then tell us what you were doing when it appeared.
-
Step 4: Restart your phone
Turn your phone off and on again, then open Waggi. While you’re there, check your phone has the latest software update.
-
Step 5: Reinstall Waggi as a last step
Delete Waggi from your phone, then install it again from the App Store or Google Play. Sign in the same way as before. Your dog, tracker, walks and fences come back, and the app reconnects to the tracker by itself.
CautionA walk that hasn’t been saved is only on your phone, and deleting the app deletes it. Open Waggi and tap Save walk first, if you can.
The app asks for location and Bluetooth again?
That’s normal after a reinstall. Allow location Always with precise location on, allow Bluetooth, then tap Continue.
-
Step 6: Still crashing? Tell us
If Waggi opens, go to Settings › Help › Report an Issue and choose App. If it won’t open, email support@waggi.com. Tell us your phone model, the Waggi version (it’s on the app’s page in the App Store or Google Play) and what you were doing when it crashed.
Frequently asked questions
The app says “Please check your internet connection and try again.”
Your phone is offline. The tracker keeps working, but the app needs the internet to show new locations, start Live mode and save walks or changes. Connect to Wi-Fi or mobile data and try again.
The app says “Something went wrong. Please try again later.”
Try again in a minute. If it keeps happening, update Waggi, close it completely and reopen it, then tell us with Report an Issue.
The app crashes or won’t open.
Update Waggi first, then close it completely and open it again. The guide “Fix the app crashing or not opening”, above, takes you through the rest.
Will I lose anything if I delete and reinstall Waggi?
Your dog, tracker, fences and saved walks are kept on your account, and come back when you sign in. A walk you haven’t saved is only on the phone, so save it first. After reinstalling, the Permission screen shows once.
A tracker update won’t finish. What should I do?
Put the tracker right next to your phone and check it has more than 30% battery, with Live mode and any walk turned off. Keep the update screen open and your phone unlocked, then tap Retry. If it says it could not download the update, check your phone is online, then tap Retry, then Download. Updates, under Knowing your tracker, shows each step.
Update Required keeps appearing. Why?
Your tracker’s firmware is out of date, so the message shows each time the app connects to it until it’s updated. Tap Update firmware, keep the tracker next to your phone and let the update finish. If you were pairing, pair again afterwards if the app asks.
It says “No firmware update is available right now.”
Waggi couldn’t find an update to offer. Check your phone is online and look again later. If it shows Up to date, there’s nothing to install.
It says “Connect your tracker over Bluetooth before installing the update.”
Keep the tracker next to your phone, go to Settings › Tracker Settings, tap Connect, then go back to the update.
